BMW’s Next 7-Series Plays Follow the Leader
posted in Car News Articles |
The redesigned 2001 model of the BMW 7-Series were the first to feature a 6-speed automatic transmission. A few years later, Mercedes-Benz released their newest S-Class with the more economical 7-speed automatic transmission, which was set as a technological standard. Now, Lexus is offering a whopping 8-speed transmission on the new LS and apparently, by reports made by Automotive News, the new redesigned 7-Series will up the standard by offering a 8-speed transmission as well. Hmm, how ironic. The next 7-series should arrive near 2009 or 2010, so maybe by then we will find a 9-speed transmission on the 7? Maybe, just maybe.
