XM’s New NavWeather Service To Debut on 2009 Acura TSX and RL

NEW YORK — XM announced on Wednesday at the 2008 New York Auto Show that its real-time NavWeather will debut first on the 2009 Acura TSX and RL. The system was unveiled earlier this year at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show, but XM had remained mum up to this point about which vehicles would be the first to get the high-tech offering.

The XM NavWeather service will be available as part of the TSX and RL’s technology package that includes an Acura navigation system.

XM’s new system uses “Threat Matrix” technology to give immediate alerts on developing weather conditions, such as hail, tornado and storm warnings, mapped to the driver’s specific location and driving route.
