All hail Frank Williams. TTAC’s Managing Editor spent the best part of last week speccing-out our new website. Every current and future link, every button, every function, every everything. Frank’s road map contains the kind of “granularity” that code writers adore, that I consider “grit,” whose creation requires true grit. In the course of this odyssey, Frank and I made a lot of strategic decisions. Most were easy (a strong brand makes it so). While I’m completely confident the new TTAC will leapfrog the competition (no Volt comparisons please), there’s an 800-pound feature in the room that we need to discuss: forums.

It happened to a BMW M5 and also to a Porsche 928, so why not to a Corvette C4? If you like speed, but you also have a lot of stuffs to carry, the Corvette pick-up is the best option! That if you want to spend like $115.000 to create it!
It was assembled combining a 1984 Corvette front end and a 1991 corvette rear end with a functional tailgate. Munci 4 speed and custom wheels and tires. This car was purchased from an heir to the Bayliner estate.
The pick-up is for sale, for $35.000 negotiable! Something does not sound right in here, no?

Follow the jump for video if the incident
We are soooo glad Danica Patrick hearts Autoblog because during practice at Indy yesterday, she accidentally struck a pit crew member of a competing team. Dale Coyne Racing’s Charles Buckman, the chief mechanic for Mario Moraes, suffered a concussion as well as scalp and facial cuts after being hit and then sailing over Danica’s car in pit row.
According to several trackside eyewitnesses, the incident was completely not Danica’s fault. Apparently, Indy’s pit area was busier and more congested than usual due to a weather delay, and Buckman took one step too many to the right just as Danica was pitting. He was taken to Methodist Hospital and is expected to recover fully from his injuries. For his part, Buckman says he doesn’t remember many details about the incident.
People at the track said Danica and her teammates were visibly shaken by the accident. Marco Andretti saw the accident happen, and told Sports Illustrated, “It’s a dangerous situation; a crowded pit lane, a lot going on. You don’t like to see that kind of thing but it’s not Danica’s fault. Stuff happens. Racing is dangerous. We’re very concerned and hopefully it will turn out good.” Thanks for the tip, Joe!

Batman. Superman. Spiderman. Fantastic Four. And the hero of the week, Iron Man. So how âbout a little something for us car types?
Speed Racer to the rescue! For those not familiar with this manga series and anime hero (which originated in Japan as Mach GoGoGo in 1967), Speed Racer is a guy, not a car. The latter is named the Mach 5. But you knew that.

BMW’s M3 is the evergreen performance coupe, but just how good is the saloon version? AMG can make Mercs go fast in a straight line, but what about around corners? And then there’s Lexus, the Japanese brand that has majored on luxury since it launched nearly two decades ago. Except now they’ve gone and made an IS with a 5.0-litre V8.

CAR Online has obtained the best info yet on Mercedes’ new AMG ‘Gullwing’ supercar. Depicted in our artist’s impression, the super coupe is codenamed C197 and will make its debut at the 2010 Geneva motor show; a roadster tagged R197 follows a year later.
The new two-seater will be badged an AMG, not as a Mercedes (our artist’s impression still displays the Merc star). It’s thus the first standalone product of the go-faster department – and it probably won’t be the last.
The coupe and roadster will cost around the same as a well-equipped Porsche 911 Turbo – the target is €150,000 (£105,000) – and in size they are closer to the SLR than the SL.

Tony Stewart must have needed a new surface to finally break through at Darlington Raceway. The two-time Sprint Cup champion had never won here in 19 previous races, four of them Nationwide events, dating to 1996. Yet, Stewart was dominant throughout in gliding to victory in the first race on Darlington’s slicker, repaved surface Friday night in the Nationwide Series Diamond Hill Plywood 200. Stewart led 90 of 147 laps for his fourth Nationwide victory this year and Joe Gibbs Racing’s sixth straight. Series points leader Clint Bowyer finished second and fellow Cup regular David Reutimann was third. Read more about Stewart’s win and his praise for the tires Goodyear brought to Darlington here. Full results can be found here.

Here at MPGH (MotherProof.com Global Headquarters, don’t cha know), our Mom-Reviewers each drive drastically different types of cars. This is (pardon the pun) proof positive that one size does not fit all. Chief Mother Kristin is about to purchase a compact car. Courtney, mom to Harry and a soon-to-arrive sibling drives a sedan. L.A. Lori sits behind the wheel of a minivan, and I drive a two-row SUV/crossover. Emily drives a three-row SUV/crossover. That led us to wonder, what does your car choice say about you?
