GM: 19,000 hourly workers take buyouts

Nearly one-fourth of General Motors Corp.’s hourly U.S. work force — 19,000 employees — will part ways with the automaker this year in exchange for a retirement incentive or buyout offer, according to preliminary figures released by the automaker today.
