In the category for best misuse of hydraulics, this car definitely takes the trophy. There were a couple of honorable mentions but nothing quite as extreme as this example. The S10 with the 30-degree starboard list might have been in the running had it demonstrated the ability to this sort of dog-next-to-a-fire-hydrant maneuver, but it was rather pedestrian by comparison. Plus, this one is all sparkly-shiny! I suppose if you’re going to add this much bling to your car’s normally unseen undercarriage, just have to show it off.

Hey Markus (and everyone else), check this out. Saw your blog entry about the Vignale-bodied Rolls for sale at the Blackhawk Exposition at Pebble Beach. I agree, this creature sucks eggs.Â

The DeLorean was immortalized in the 1985 hit film “Back to the Future” — it’s the cool car that was transformed into a time machine by the kooky scientist. The man behind the machine has a story of his own, just as colorful as any Hollywood movie.

Nissan has fallen behind domestic rivals like Honda and Toyota in the green stakes. Both have hybrids on sale in the UK but Nissan has nothing. To match the pair Nissan has decided to make a fully electric vehicle (EV) the main pillar of its eco strategy, with plans to have an EV in production by 2010. Luckily Nissan’s had its fingers in the electric pies since 1996. with a lithium-ion Prairie concept. Ugly on the top, but with clear futuristic thinking beneath.

BMW has caused controversy with its X6. We know manufacturers are trying to fill every niche, but a 4×4-cum-coupe? Really? Then again, with a clever XDrive rear diff this BMW also has the potential to be the best handling 4×4 ever.

Cadillac’s new small SUV is just days away from being unveiled and our spy photographers have just caught it testing Stateside, almost undisguised. It’s clear from our pictures that the production car shares its looks with the Provoq fuel cell concept (see pictures, bottom right). Our spies who sent us these photos are also reporting that the car will be called SRX, not BRX or Provoq as previously thought. That makes sense, as this new car will replace the current SRX, which is a large and unloved crossover-cum-estate.

Darien Grubb has crew chief and team engineer experience and apparently Tony Stewart thinks Grubb might be a good fit for his Stewart-Haas Racing team in 2009. ESPN.com is reporting that Stewart is trying to lure Grubb away from Hendrick Motorsports, where he serves as engineering manager for the Nos. 5 and 88 Chevrolets.

Remember the days when you and your best girlfriends would hit the open road for three days of travel and adventure? While road-trip spontaneity might be history for most moms, some Michigan Girl Scouts got their first taste of the open road this summer.

Well I’m back. After weeks and weeks of being busy with work, moving to a new apartment, and other family stuff, I finally have a few minutes to spend updating this site. About a month ago I headed to Tokyo for the Tuning Powers show and I have now uploaded all the photos from the show for your viewing pleasure.
