If Mercury Goes, Should Lincoln be Far Behind?

Humor me for a minute. Ford Motor Company suits and PR have been denying the Mercury division’s impending death since Oldsmobile, and even Plymouth, was still around. And like Pontiac as well, Mercury comes from that quaint era in American automobiledom when the domestics controlled some 95 percent of the industry, when owning an Oldsmobile or DeSoto or Mercury while your neighbor drove only a Chevy or Plymouth or Ford meant something.
